Dr. Peter J. Lydon is a distinguished board-certified general surgeon with more than 40 years of experience proudly serving Norwood and the surrounding communities. Consistently named a Top Doctor by Boston Magazine and Castle Connolly since 2014, he is recognized for his clinical excellence and commitment to outstanding patient care. Dr. Lydon has always had an interest in outpatient dermatologic surgery, and looks forward to being a local resource for patients when they need surgical management of the following conditions:

• Cysts, lipomas, pilonidal disease, and other benign neoplasms
• Basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas
• Melanoma
• Other procedures such as temporal artery biopsies, placement of vascular access ports, as well as some other common general surgical issues.

A graduate of Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Lydon completed his surgical residency at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital of Boston and a surgical fellowship at Tufts Medical Center. He is dual-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners, and holds the distinction of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Lydon has previously held such notable titles as Chief of Surgery at Norwood Hospital, Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Norwood Hospital, and President and Medical Director of the Eastern Massachusetts Surgery Center.
