Letybo
A Precision Neuromodulator for Natural-Looking Wrinkle Reduction
Letybo is an FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A injectable designed to soften dynamic facial wrinkles while preserving natural expression. Backed by extensive global use and now available in the United States, Letybo offers patients another high-quality option for wrinkle relaxation.
At Vue Dermatology & Laser, Letybo is used thoughtfully as part of a customized treatment approach—guided by facial anatomy, muscle movement, and individual aesthetic goals.
Letybo (botulinum toxin type A-wlbg) is a purified neuromodulator developed by Hugel, a biopharmaceutical company with decades of experience in injectable therapeutics and aesthetics. Letybo has been used internationally for years and is the most used neuromodulator in South Korea, under the brand name Botulax®. It is now FDA-approved in the United States for the treatment of moderate to severe glabellar lines—the vertical “11” lines between the eyebrows.
Facial wrinkles caused by expression—such as frowning, squinting, or concentrating—are known as dynamic wrinkles. These lines form when underlying muscles repeatedly contract, eventually creating visible creases in the skin.
Letybo works by temporarily blocking the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction, preventing targeted muscles from contracting as strongly. When those muscles relax, the overlying skin smooths, resulting in a refreshed and more youthful appearance.
Letybo has a very quick onset of action, with some patients reporting onset within 24 hours of injection, and most by 72 hours.
Letybo is FDA-approved for glabellar lines, but neuromodulators are frequently used off-label in other areas of the face when appropriate and performed by an experienced injector.
Common treatment areas may include:
- Frown lines, worry lines, or “eleven lines”
- Forehead wrinkles
- Crow’s feet (wrinkles around the eyes)
- Bunny lines (on the nose)
- Lip flip (to provide a slightly fuller appearance)
- Vertical lip lines
- Downward slanting or asymmetric mouth corners
- Gummy smiles (showing gums when smiling)
- Jawline slimming/jaw clenching
- Chin wrinkling or dimpling
- Neck bands
Dr. Eliades will determine whether Letybo is the best option for your concerns or whether another neuromodulator or treatment approach may be more suitable.
While all FDA-approved cosmetic neuromodulators contain botulinum toxin type A, there are subtle differences in formulation, manufacturing, and clinical feel.
Key attributes of Letybo include:
- Proven global track record with widespread international use
- High-purity formulation developed through advanced purification processes
- Consistent performance that supports predictable, natural-looking outcomes
- Balanced diffusion characteristics, allowing for precise muscle targeting
At Vue Dermatology & Laser, product selection is always secondary to technique. Dr. Eliades’ expertise, dosing strategy, and understanding of facial dynamics are the most important determinants of results.
Results from Letybo typically last three to four months, similar to other neuromodulators. Muscle activity gradually returns as the medication wears off, and repeat treatments are needed to maintain results.
Letybo treatments are quick and efficient, usually taking 10–15 minutes. A very fine needle is used, and discomfort is generally minimal.
After treatment:
- Mild redness, swelling, or small bumps may occur at injection sites
- Bruising is possible but usually small in size, mild and temporary
- You can return to normal activities immediately
You will receive detailed post-treatment instructions to optimize results and minimize side effects.
Letybo underwent rigorous clinical trials before receiving FDA approval in the United States. When administered by a trained medical professional, it is very safe and effective. Side effects are typically mild and temporary, such as localized bruising or tenderness and headache.
As with all injectable treatments, outcomes depend heavily on provider expertise. Choosing a board-certified dermatologist ensures proper dosing, anatomical precision, and attention to facial balance.
At Vue Dermatology & Laser, neuromodulator treatments are never cookie-cutter. Every Letybo treatment begins with a consultation focused on facial anatomy, muscle movement, and aesthetic goals.
Our philosophy emphasizes subtlety, precision, and natural expression—so you still look like yourself, just more refreshed. If you’re interested in learning whether Letybo is right for you, we invite you to schedule a cosmetic consultation.
